Vishal Furia's Hindi remake of his own Marathi film Lapachhapi (2017) is set for a theatrical release in November.

The makers have released a first look from the horror film which is led by Nushrratt Bharuccha.

The new look begins with the background of a desolate village and zooms out to reveal a pregnant woman behind a veil. The scary difference is that the woman is a ghostly creature. The tagline says, 'The new face of horror now coming to haunt us.'

Chhorii is directed by Furia and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Vikram Malhotra, Jack Davis and Shikhaa Sharma. A remake of Furia's own directorial debut film, it stars Bharuccha with Mita Vashisht, Rajesh Jais, Saurabh Goyal and Yaanea Bharadwaj in important roles.

The film went on the floor in 2020 after the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic ebbed and has been shot in Madhya Pradesh.

Chhorii also marks the first collaboration between Abundantia Entertainment’s Psych, a vertical focused on the horror and paranormal genres, and the Los Angeles-based Crypt TV, known for showcasing a new brand of horror with shows like The Look-See, The Birch, Sunny Family Cult and The Thing In The Apartment.

In addition to Chhorii, Furia is helming another horror film, Bali, featuring Swwapnil Joshi, as well as the ensemble thriller, Forensic, with Vikrant Massey and Prachi Desai.
