Mohit Takalkar's yet-to-be-released Marathi film Medium Spicy is having its world premiere at Norway's Bollywood Film Festival.

The 19th edition of the festival will see the film starring Sai Tamhankar, Parna Pethe and Lalit Prabhakar have its maiden screening alongside Nila Madhab Panda's Kalira Atita (2021) and Shefali Shah's short film Someday (2021).

Medium Spicy was originally slated to be released on 5 June 2020 but was pushed back owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. A fresh date for the film's release is awaited.

Producer Vidhi Kasliwal of Landmarc Films said, “We have been patiently waiting to bring our labour of love to audiences and we couldn’t be happier than to have the first screening of Medium Spicy all the way in Norway. As they say, art has no boundaries; film festivals give us the opportunity to take our stories through movies to audiences across the globe.”

Takalkar's Medium Spicy is a story about relationships, love and marriage in urban lives. Besides the three leads, the film has an interesting ensemble cast that includes Sagar Deshmukh, Neha Joshi, Pushkaraj Chirputkar, Ipshitaa and veterans Neena Kulkarni and Ravindra Mankani.

Speaking about the film's screening in Norway, Takalkar said, “As a director, it is satisfying to know that your film is going places. As we start this journey, we would want the film to travel to as many places for its audiences. With my amazing cast, crew and my producer by my side, I am happy with the way the film has shaped up and hope Medium Spicy leaves a good aftertaste!”

The Bollywood Film Festival is one of the premier Indian film festivals in Norway and is being held between 10 and 16 September this year. The festival has been held every year since 2003, growing in prominence after 2010. In recent years, it has seen artistes Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, Zeenat Aman, Vidya Balan and Suneil Shetty and directors Madhur Bhandarkar, Abbas-Mustan and Ketan Mehta in attendance.
