Rajkummar Rao starts shooting for Hindi remake of Telugu thriller Hit: The First Case

The remake, which also stars Sanya Malhotra, tells the story of a cop who is on the trail of a missing woman.

Rajkummar Rao has started shooting for his upcoming film Hit: The First Case, an official remake of last year's Telugu thriller of the same name. The Telugu film had marked the directorial debut of Sailesh Kolanu, who is also helming the Hindi remake.

Yesterday, the official T-Series social media handle announced that the film is now officially underway by sharing pictures from the mahurat ceremony.

The film tells the story of a police officer who is on the trail of a missing woman. Sanya Malhotra plays the female lead in the film. Rajkummar Rao and Malhotra were both seen earlier in Ludo (2020), but they did not share screen space in that film.

The Telugu thriller Hit: The First Case (2020) starred Vishwak Sen and Ruhani Sharma. The makers have also announced a sequel with Adivi Sesh in the lead.

While the original Telugu thriller was produced by actor Nani in association with Prashanti Tipirineni, the Hindi film is being produced by Bhushan Kumar, Dil Raju, Krishan Kumar and Kuldeep Rathore.
