Actress Richa Chadha plays a tough cop in the Voot Select web-series Candy

Actress Richa Chadha will be seen in the avatar of a tough and determined police officer in Voot Select’s upcoming original web-series Candy.

Helmed by Ashish R Shukla, the suspense thriller also has Ronit Roy playing the character of a teacher.

Chadha’s character is hell-bent on hunting down the murderer of a student in a school located at a small hill station. Roy, a teacher and mentor of the victim, joins her in the mission to nab the criminal.

"Portraying a cop was not easy,” said Chadha, who finds preparing for a role tougher than actually playing it. “It demanded a very different mental make-up. I was lucky to be able to hang out with some female cops and understand the dual pressures of managing the needs of the family in the Indian social set-up and working as a law enforcer.”

Chadha believes it is essential for all artistes to expand their horizons by stepping out of their comfort zones and doing roles that are complicated and not simply black or white.
