Rinku Rajguru, who was recently seen in the Zee5 film 200: Halla Ho (2021), will appear in her second anthology film this month. The National award-winning actress was earlier seen in the Amazon Prime anthology Unpaused (2020) which largely revolved around characters in the COVID-19 pandemic.
In the latest film Ankahi Kahaniya (2021), Rajguru essays the part of Manjari in the segment directed by Abhishek Chaubey in a story set in early 1980s Mumbai. Her character is caught between family turmoil and responsibilities and is looking to escape the rut she lives in with the character played by Delzad Hiwale.
Giving details about her role, Rajguru said, “From all the characters that I have done till now, this one is totally different. Manjari is very calm and wants to do so much in life, but she is oppressed and everything is bottled up because of her home situation and the way she lives. We were showing a time from the 1980s so it was a little difficult to act that kind of elegance, but it was fun.”
Produced by RSVP Movies, the Netflix anthology also features shorts by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari and Saket Chaudhary with an ensemble cast of Abhishek Banerjee, Kunal Kapoor, Zoya Hussain, Nikhil Dwivedi and Palomi Ghosh.
Ankahi Kahaniya is due to be premiered on 17 September.
