R Parthiban's next directorial feature, Iravin Nizhal (Shadow Of The Night), was revealed by veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan on social media on Monday. The filmmaker is currently working with Amitabh's son Abhishek Bachchan on a remake of his last feature, Ottha Seruppu Size 7 (2019).
Announcing the film's title, Bachchan wrote, "Happy to present the Curtain Raiser of the World’s first of it’s kind Single Shot Feature film ‘Iravin Nizhal’ (Shadow of the Night) created and crafted by Radhakrishnan Parthiban .. music rendered by The AR Rahman (sic)."

From the first look, the film appears to be as experimental as his last one. The prelude (played by Rahman on the piano) begins with the visual of a child crawling across a floor with shadows resembling piano keys cast across it. As the child crawls away, the camera zooms into a bloody hand print, which cuts to visuals of Rahman at the piano.
Mysterious and abstract as it is, the teaser reflects the director's vision. The film is expected to be India's first single-shot film. Speaking to The Hindu newspaper back in March 2020, the director said, "This idea has been in my head for the last five years and it is finally taking shape."
Iravin Nizhal is expected to be ready for release by 2022.
