FFSI Keralam launches online platform for documentaries and shorts

It was launched on 2 October with a documentary on Mahatma Gandhi.

The Federation of Film Societies of India (FFSI) Keralam has launched an online platform for documentaries and short movies, FSSI Online Short & Documentary Theatre.

Started on 2 October, on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, the inaugural film was Remembering Mahatma, a documentary titled made by Thodupuzha Film Society. The documentary was written by UA Rajendran and conceived by Joshy Vignette.

After the COVID pandemic, the FFSI has been organizing online film festivals but the platform will be its first foray into providing a dedicated space for showcasing shorts and documentaries. The platform is free for all and a selection committee has been formed for choosing the films that will be screened on the platform. Aimed at encouraging diverse talent, anyone can request to have their movie screened on the platform. 

FFSI Keralam also organizes the SiGNS Film Festival, a film festival for shorts and documentaries.
