Parambrata Chatterjee has announced his next film Antidote, starring Ankush Hazra and Subhasree Ganguly.
The thriller is based on a virus, pandemic and related conspiracies. In the film, Hazra plays a helpless father who begins a search for a vaccine to save his child from a deadly virus. Ganguly essays the character of a microbiologist.
Speaking to AnandaPlus, the entertainment supplement of Bengali daily Anandabazar Patrika, Chatterjee said, “In this thriller, two common individuals get entangled in a conspiracy. The story will also highlight some eternal emotions.” The screenplay for the film has been written by Aritra Sen.
While Chatterjee considers Hazra a dependable actor, Hazra is excited to be a part of the first Bengali thriller based on a pandemic.
“Subhasree is one of the best actors of this generation and I have wanted to work with her for long,” said Chatterjee, who was cast with the actress in Raj Chakraborty’s unreleased Habji Gabji. “While working in Habji Ganbi, Subhasree stated that she was waiting for Yuvan [her son] to grow up a little so that she could take up her next project.”
The actress said, “I have acted with Param-da previously. [But] this will be my first work under his direction. I love thrillers and I am quite excited for this project.”
Produced by Roadshow Films and Raktim Chatterjee, Antidote is scheduled to go on the floors next year.
