Gully Boy's Nakul Roshan Sahdev to play lead role in ALTBalaji thriller series Girgit

Actor Nakul Roshan Sahdev who rose to fame with his performance as Salman in Zoya Akhtar's Gully Boy (2019) will play the lead role in ALTBalaji's upcoming mystery thriller series Girgit.

Nakul will essay the role of Ranbir Khetan in the series which is expected to be streamed in the last week of October on the platform as well as MX Player. Ranbir is a rich, alcoholic Casanova, who gets embroiled in a murder case. 

Speaking about his role, the actor said, "What I really liked about Ranbir is that he is unabashed. He has no filter as to how his mind processes things. You can say he is a bravado personified. So it is an interesting space to get into."

Nakul further revealed that Girgit would be akin to a Guy Ritchie film. "The world of Girgit is surreal. Everyone is twisted and weird in a way, and you will like their weirdness. It's a fast-paced series, in a very Guy Ritchie space. Each one of us has a side to us that we hide in society. What happens when we put it out in front of society? That is what Girgit is about," he said.

Nakul was anything but nervous during the shoot. "I never take any pressure. That has been my stance from the beginning. There is a restless energy of excitement more than nervousness," he said.

ALTBalaji has shared the logo of the series, which bears resemblance to a chameleon, on Instagram.

The series features Taniya Kalrra, Trupti Khamkar, Ashmita Jaggi, Samar Vermani, Shashwar Ali and Ashish Tyagi.
