Vicky Kaushal shares first look of Amol Parashar as Bhagat Singh on Sardar Udham sets

Shoojit Sircar's depiction of freedom fighter Udham Singh's life and times in Sardar Udham will include several other iconic figures from Indian history. The film, which will be released on Amazon Prime on 15 October, will feature Vicky Kaushal in the lead role. Among the cast is Amol Parashar, who plays another iconic Indian freedom fighter, Bhagat Singh.

Kaushal shared an image from the sets of Sircar's film, revealing Parashar's first look as the revolutionary hero. Kaushal wrote, "My guru, my friend, my brother… Mera Bhagatya! Presenting Amol Parashar as Shaheed Bhagat Singh. Glad we played this friendship Amol (sic).

From the picture, Parashar seems to be playing the younger, confident and idealistic Bhagat Singh. The attire and the wispy beard highlight the youth of the revolutionary whose actions spurred the interest of the whole subcontinent.

While Udham Singh and Bhagat Singh were both revolutionaries, the latter was more radical and fiercer in his stance. It was Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev's decision to take direct action which spurred Udham Singh's decision to move to London, England, in pursuit of the former lieutenant governor of the Punjab provinces, Michael O'Dwyer.
