Kenny Chhabra’s comedy Jinne Jamme Saare Nikamme is set to become the first Punjabi film to be premiered on an OTT platform. It will be out on Zee5 on 14 October.

Earlier, the film was scheduled to be released in theatres on 22 October.

Zee5 shared the news on Twitter with a caption that read, "Ki hunda hai jadd ik maa pyo milkar paalde ne Nikammeya Di Fauj? Jaanan leyi rajj ke vekho, Jinne Jamme Saare Nikamme. Premieres 14 October only on Zee5." This translates to, 'What happens when a father and mother bring up a bunch of losers? To find out, watch Jinne Jamme Saare Nikamme.'

Directed by Chhabra, the film stars Binnu Dhillon, Jaswinder Bhalla, Seema Kaushal and Pukhraj Bhalla. A family comedy with a strong social message, the film has been written by Naresh Kathooria.

Jinne Jamme Saare Nikamme is the story of Gurnam Singh and Satwant Kaur who are parents to four sons who have been brought up with immense love and affection. Like all ageing parents, they want nothing more from their children except for their time and attention, but this is exactly what they don’t get.

What starts off as a series of humorous incidents leads to an emotional rollercoaster ride.

Recently, Zee5 had announced its ‘rajj ke vekho’ campaign with a series of Punjabi movies, web-series, originals and shows, starting with titles from Zee Studios which include Puaada (2021), Qismat 2 (2021) and Fuffad Ji (2021).

Manish Kalra, chief business officer, Zee5 India, said, "This announcement is in line with our aim of delivering diverse and purposeful content, especially curated for our Punjabi-speaking audience. Get ready to witness a complete package of entertainment in Jinne Jamme Saare Nikamme. A film filled with comedy, drama and romance along with a message about family values that audiences will relate to and surely enjoy when it streams on Zee5 on 14 October 2021."

Actor Binnu Dhillon said, "During the pandemic, we realized the importance of family and relationships. This movie has a special social message about family values and I am excited that it will stream soon and everyone can watch it on their screens."

Correction, 5 October: An earlier version of this report said the film would also be released in theatres on 22 October. That was before the producers decided to switch to a digital release.
