Manoj Bajpayee's father RK Bajpayee dies at 83

Manoj Bajpayee’s father RK Bajpayee died yesterday at a hospital in Delhi at the age of 83. The senior Bajpayee had been admitted to hospital last month with age-related issues.

Manoj Bajpayee’s spokesperson said in a statement, “Padmashree Manoj Bajpayee’s father RK Bajpayee passed away at the age of 83 today morning. Manoj’s father’s condition was critical the past few days and after hearing the news, Manoj has rushed to Delhi from Kerala where he was shooting for his next project.”

The funeral took place on Sunday afternoon at Delhi's Nigambodh Ghat.

Just a while back, Bajpayee expressed gratitude to those who stood with him during this phase. “Thank you all for sending prayers and love on the sad demise of my father who was the sole reason and support for me to venture on such a difficult journey which got me everything that I dreamt of!! Eternally grateful to you all!!” he tweeted.

Bajpayee’s friend and filmmaker Avinash Das, known for Anaarkali Of Aarah (2017) and Raat Baaki Hai (2021), offered his condolences by sharing a picture of the father and son. He wrote, “Manoj-bhaiya’s father is no more. I can remember the times spent with him. I had taken this picture at Bhitiharwa Ashram. He had a lot of patience. He didn’t get affected by his son’s success. He was a simple yet large-hearted man. My condolences.”
