Cinematographer-turned-director Soumik Haldar's upcoming Hoichoi series Mahabharat Murders has gone on the floors.

Based on the novel The Mahabharata Murders by novelist, blogger and podcaster Arnab Ray, the series stars Arjun Chakraborty and Priyanka Sarkar. The rest of the cast is yet to be announced.

Mahabharat Murders was initially announced as Hoichoi stepped into its fifth year in the month of September. An animated teaser video revealed that the story is about a cold-blooded murderer, to whom, the city of joy has turned into Kurukshetra.

The murderer considers himself the modern-day reincarnation of Duryodhana. He has already committed the gruesome murders of 'Draupadi', 'Nakul' and 'Sahadev' and is gunning for the rest of the Pandavas to rewrite history in his own way.

The black-and-red poster which features Devanagari letters depicts the silhouettes of the Pandavas within the profile of a woman.
