Rajinikanth in hospital; sources say it is for a ‘routine health check-up’

Superstar Rajinikanth was admitted to the Kauvery hospital in Chennai late last night. According to family sources, he was taken for a routine health check-up.
Some reports claimed that he complained of uneasiness and was rushed for medical help. Others claimed that the actor suffered a small transient ischemic event (a stage prior to stroke).
However, none of these reports has been confirmed. An official update on Rajinikanth’s condition and the reason for admitting him to hospital is yet to be issued.
Rajinikanth was presented the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke award earlier this week at a function in the national capital.
He is currently awaiting the release of the Tamil film Annaatthe (2021), which is scheduled to hit theatres on 4 November for Diwali.
In December last year, while shooting for the film in Hyderabad, the veteran actor was admitted to hospital with severe blood pressure fluctuation.
