Suriya announces new film with director Bala 

The project, which is expected to go on the floors next month, will be bankrolled by the actor’s home banner 2D Entertainment.

Actor Suriya on Thursday took to Twitter to announce that he’s reuniting with filmmaker Bala for a new project. This will be the third collaboration between the duo after Nanda (2001) and Pithamagan (2003).

The project will be bankrolled by Suriya’s home banner 2D Entertainment. The project is expected to go on the floors next month. 

Suriya tweeted about the reunion in Tamil. 

Meanwhile, Suriya currently awaits the release of the Tamil courtroom drama Jai Bhim.

Directed by TJ Gnanavel, it will be premiered on Amazon Prime on 2 November. 

Suriya had said he was proud to present this story of “courage and faith in pursuit of justice.” The film stars the actor as a lawyer fighting for tribal communities.

This will be the second direct-OTT release for Suriya after Soorarai Pottru (2020). It will also be his third production venture to be premiered on an OTT platform after Raame Aandalum Raavane Aandalum (2021) and Udanpirappe (2021)

Suriya was last seen in Soorarai Pottru, a film based on the life of Captain GR Gopinath, founder of the budget airline Air Deccan.
