Carrying the beacon of hope is not going to be easy, even for a film filled with such commercial potential as Rohit Shetty's Sooryavanshi (2021). Yet, the film has made a decent start to its promotions with the addition of an impressive soundtrack. After the boisterous 'Aila Re Aila', the number 'Mere Yaara' captures a melodious Arijit Singh in sublime form.

The song is set to the background of the blossoming romance between Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif's characters in the film. From vestal green picnic spots to clean blue beaches, there is enough visual serenity to add to the musical comfort. The video also builds a timeline from the beginning of Sooryavanshi's love story till his marriage and the birth of their child. Whether those are part of the story or a dream sequence will only be revealed in the film.

The composition by Jam8 (Kaushik-Guddu-Akash) has a simple but catchy rhythm backed by the traditional orchestra of dholak, sarangi and tabla. The familiarity of the rhythm and the vocals of Arijit Singh make for a comforting combination.

The song flows melodiously with Rashmi Virag's simple and effective lyrics adding to its value. But the USP remains Arijit Singh's voice which dominates everything else and remain with you long after the song has ended. The singer is at the peak of his prowess, though there is a risk of him picking up very similar tracks. Neeti Mohan has a short vocal appearance, which serves as an embellishment rather than a duet.

Directed by Rohit Shetty, Sooryavanshi is set to be released in theatres on 5 November. Watch the song 'Mere Yaara' below and let us know if you are keen to watch the film.
