Doctor turns out to be Sivakarthikeyan’s highest-grossing film


Directed by Nelson, the dark comedy sees the actor play an army doctor who goes after a human trafficking gang.

Actor Sivakarthikeyan’s Doctor is on the verge of becoming the first film of the star's to enter the Rs100 crore club. The action film, which has registered Rs90 crore in gross earnings so far, has become the highest-grossing movie of his career.

Directed by Nelson, Doctor sees Sivakarthikeyan play an army doctor who goes after a human trafficking gang.

The film is all set to be released in Kerala this week and this will ensure it will have an extended run in theatres. 

Doctor also stars Priyanka Arul Mohan, Vinay Rai, Yogi Babu and Milind Soman. 

Meanwhile, Sivakarthikeyan awaits the release of the upcoming Tamil science-fiction thriller Ayalaan. Tipped to be a film centered on a lost alien who finds a friend in Sivakarthikeyan’s character, the film is being directed by Ravi Kumar.

Rumoured to have been shelved a year ago, Ayalaan was revived after it went back on the floors this year in February.

The film features Rakul Preet Singh as an astronomer. If everything goes as planned, the film will hit the screens next year. Isha Koppikar, who returns to Tamil cinema after two decades, will be seen as an assassin in the movie. 

Sivakarthikeyan also has a campus-based Tamil comedy titled Don and a Telugu-Tamil film which will be helmed by Anudeep in the pipeline.
