Paani Ch Madhaani song ‘Pind Pind’: Catchy, energetic dance number sets celebratory mood

The Punjabi-language movie Paani Ch Madhaani (2021) is all set to be released on Diwali. In the run-up to the film's release in theatres, songs from the Gippy Grewal- and Neeru Bajwa-starrer are being released on YouTube. The song ‘Jean’ was released last week. This week the music video of ‘Pind Pind’ has been shared.

Set in the 1980s, Paani Ch Madhaani is the story of a music band led by Gulli (Grewal) who, along with his bandmates, travels across Punjab. In due course, Bajwa’s character joins the group as the female singer and together they tour and perform.

The band then finds out that it has won a lottery and is ecstatic. The song ‘Pind Pind’ celebrates that news and the excitement at winning such a large sum of money.

The dance number sung by Grewal has lyrics by Happy Raikoti and music by Jatinder Shah. Energetic and lively, the video shows the troupe dancing and enjoying as they make merry. The bandmates are enjoying their drinks and Bajwa, too, gets drunk.

The end of the song has a solo dance number where Bajwa performs to the beat of the music, briefly singing the chorus line. While the dance moves by the troupe are mainly bhangra steps, Bajwa performs a more intricate number, shaking a leg to the bhangra beats coupled with Western instrumentation, leaving the bandmates stunned.
