Kunal Kemmu and Shweta Tripathi Sharma’s upcoming movie Kanjoos Makkhichoos (2021) is a light-hearted drama directed by Gujarati filmmaker Vipul Mehta.
The makers have now revealed that the film is adapted from the successful Gujarati play Sajan Re Jhoot Mat Bolo.
Also starring Piyush Mishra, Alka Amin, Rajeev Gupta and Raju Shrivastava, Kanjoos Makkhichoos has been produced under the banners of ThunderSky Entertainment and Soham Rockstar Entertainment.
Producer Kushagra Sharma said in a statement, “The film has a beautiful message to it. And the actors along with the crew did a fantastic job making it. We hope the audience enjoys the film just the way we enjoyed making it.”
Kanjoos Makkhichoos had gone on the floors on Ganesh Chathurthi (10 September) this year and was wrapped up on Dussehra (15 October). It has been shot in Rishikesh in Uttarakhand and Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh.
On the film being wrapped up, Kemmu had said on Instagram, “It has been a fulfilling and enjoyable journey. I can’t wait for you guys to meet my character Jamuna Prasad Pandey and to share this warm, funny and endearing family film with you. See you soon at the movies.”
Kanjoos Makkhichoos marks the Hindi directorial debut of Gujarati filmmaker Mehta, who is known for directing the successful Chaal Jeevi Laiye (2019).
