John Abraham's banner JA Entertainment's first Malayalam film, Mike, went on the floors in Mysore on Wednesday, 20 October.

The news was shared along with a picture of the production's clapperboard by the production house on Twitter.

While all details about the film are being kept under wraps, it is known that the project is being directed by Vishnu Sivaprasad and stars Ranjith Sajeev, a newcomer. The rest of the cast includes Anaswara Rajan, Jinu Joseph, Akshay Radhakrishnan, Abhiram and Sini Abraham.

The film has been written by Ashiq Akbar Ali. It will also be shot in Kerala and Dharamshala.

This is not the first time that John is producing a regional film. He had backed Swapna Waghmare Joshi's Marathi movie Savita Damodar Paranjpe, starring Trupti Toradmal and Subodh Bhave, in 2018.

As an actor, John is gearing up for his much-talked-about Satyameva Jayate 2, the second film in the action series. The actor will be playing a triple role in the film which marks the comeback of filmmaker Divya Khosla Kumar as an actress. Directed by Milap Zaveri, the film will be released on 25 November.
