Bunty Aur Babli 2 teaser: Saif Ali Khan, Rani Mukerji meet next-gen crooks played by Siddhant Chaturvedi, Sharvari

In the teaser of Bunty Aur Babli 2 (2021), Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukerji discuss how long it’s been since they’ve been in a film together – 12 years! The co-stars last worked together on Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic (2008), which was also a Yash Raj Films production.

However, this time around, the duo are joined by Siddhant Chaturvedi and Sharvari, who play the next-gen Bunty and Babli who con and rob people. The older stars act miffed at being replaced and ask to see the producer and director of the film.

The new pair, who appear eager to make a mark, ready themselves for the camera, but the set shuts down after an 'indignant' Khan and Mukerji storm off.

Mukerji is married to the film’s producer Aditya Chopra and incidentally, Khan was never the original Bunty in the 2005 film directed by Shaad Ali. He replaces Abhishek Bachchan who declined to come on board for the sequel.

The meta tone and light banter set the stage for the upcoming film which seems to be a comic caper with the dual teams of Bunty and Babli clashing against each other. The trailer of the film is due to be released on 25 October.

The music for the film has been composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.

Written and directed by Varun V Sharma, Bunty and Babli 2 will be out on 19 November in theatres after several delays because of COVID-19 and theatres being shut across the country.
