Shahid Kapoor has joined hands with producers Bhushan Kumar, Amar Butala and Garima Mehta for an action movie titled Bull. It is based on a mission led by paratrooper Brigadier Bulsara in 1988 in the Maldives to prevent a group of Sri Lankan militants from overthrowing the government of the island nation.
Kapoor said in a statement, "Bull is a full-blown action film inspired by real events from the life of Brigadier Bulsara. It is a privilege to play a paratrooper who leads his boys through a historic and selfless mission that has now become iconic for its precision and bravado. The opportunity to play a paratrooper is exhilarating and truly an honour."
Bull will be directed by the first-timer Aditya Nimbalkar. He has been an assistant director and associate director with Vishal Bhardwaj from Kaminey (2009) to Pataakha (2018).
Speaking about the film, Kumar said, “We’re all set to bring the audience an action extravaganza with our second collaboration with Shahid after Kabir Singh (2019). I’m elated that my association with Amar Butala and Garima Mehta could hold the key to great cinema.”
Butala said, “We dedicate this film to the men in uniform and our soldiers who brave unimaginable turmoil to guard this great nation’s sovereignty. Shahid will be seen in an exciting avatar. This is also our first association with T- Series and I look forward to it.”
Bull will go on the floors in 2022.
