Actor Shah Rukh Khan met his son Aryan Khan at Arthur Road Jail in Mumbai on Thursday. Aryan is being held in judicial custody as he was denied bail by the special NDPS (Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act) court on 20 October. The 23-year-old was arrested on 2 October in connection with the alleged drug bust on the Cordellia cruise ship.

This is the first time Shah Rukh met his son in jail since the latter was taken into custody by the NCB (Narcotics Control Bureau). The visit was allowed owing to relaxation in COVID protocol in light of the falling number of cases in the city.

Meanwhile, actress Ananya Panday was questioned for two hours in connection with the case by the NCB, which raided her Mumbai home and seized her laptop and mobile phone. The 22-year-old was accompanied to the NCB office by her father, veteran actor Chunkey Pandey. She has been summoned to the office for further questioning at 11 am tomorrow.

An NCB team also visited the Khans' residence Mannat in Mumbai on Thursday, according to the news agency Asian News International (ANI). It is not known whether or not the officers were there as part of the larger investigation.

The NCB zonal director, Sameer Wankhede, clarified that no raids had been carried out on Mannat. Speaking to ANI, he said, "The NCB team visited Shah Rukh Khan's residence to collect some documents related to Aryan Khan. No raids were conducted at Mannat."

The actor was mobbed by photojournalists as he arrived at the jail after having understandably maintained silence throughout his ordeal.

After Aryan was denied bail, his counsel filed an appeal in Bombay high court, which scheduled the hearing for next Tuesday.

The high court has also agreed to hear the bail plea of Munmun Dhamecha, who was arrested along with Khan. It has asked the NCB to file a reply by Monday.
