A young woman who is yearning for true love becomes the prime suspect after the men who enter her life start dying under mysterious circumstances in the Neha Sharma-starrer Aafat-e-Ishq.

The trailer of the dark comedy thriller begins by introducing us to a reclusive and naive young woman (Sharma) who works as a helper to Ila Arun's character. She is quite unhappy about her singlehood status and, acting on her friend's advice, decides to try her luck at online dating. She meets some unique caricaturish characters played by Vikram Kocchar, Anil Charanjeett, Amit Sial and Namit Das. But when the men start dropping like flies, she comes under the radar of an investigator played by Deepak Dobriyal.

Apart from the murders, the trailer hints at folklore about a laalpari [red fairy].

The trailer has the right mix of thrills and comedy. The quirky characters played by Dobriyal and Das bring the right amount of humour, and the former in particular seems to be having a lot of fun with his character.

It will be interesting to see if Sharma, who has not done a comedy before, can pull off this character.

Directed by Indrajit Nattoji, Aafat-e-Ishq is an official remake of the Hungarian film Liza, The Fox-Fairy (2015).

The film will be streamed on Zee5 from 29 October.
