Mudsoaked Nivin Pauly looks fierce in new poster for Padavettu

Popular Malayalam actor Nivin Pauly unveiled the new poster for his upcoming film Padavettu today.

Sharing the poster on Instagram, he wrote: "Story of conflict... struggle... survival... As long as there are humans, the fight will continue. Padavettu. 2022, in cinemas near you. Here is the new poster."

A mudsoaked Nivin, with fearless eyes, looks intense in the new poster. The actor also revealed that the film will be released in theatres next year.

Written and directed by first-time filmmaker Liju Krishna, the political drama is being produced by Sunny Wayne and Yoodlee Films. This is Yoodlee's second Malayalam project after Abhiyum Anuvum (2018). Aditi Balan, who made her Malayalam debut earlier this year with Cold Case (2021), will play the female lead in Padavettu.

Nivin, who seems to have undergone an intense physical transformation for the film, believes borderless synergies are the future of entertainment. "Padavettu is a story that impacted me hugely when it was narrated," he said. "It’s a story of second chances and finding the inner mettle to stand up against the wrong. I strongly believe the storyline, emotions and beautiful portrayal of characters will connect with the audience and earn the film a great reception."

Filmmaker Liju Krishna said "Padavettu is a political drama relevant to our times. It endeavours to portray the relentless pursuit of the layman, the oppressed section of society who are in a constant struggle to reclaim their unique identity and rightful place in a world meant for all! Padavettu visualizes the aspirations, pain and joy of life in an idyllic village in North Kerala."

Meanwhile, Nivin Pauly is also awaiting the release of Kanakam Kaamini Kalaham (2021).

The film, helmed by Android Kunjappan Version 5.25 (2018) director Ratheesh Balakrishnan Poduval, will be released on Disney+ Hotstar soon.
