In the wake of the apparent decline of the coronavirus pandemic, several filmmakers have opted to release their films in theatres. However, it seems over-the-top (OTT) platforms have still not lost their charm.

Emraan Hashmi's upcoming horror film Dybbuk The Curse Is Real is set to be streamed directly on Amazon Prime Video from 29 October. The makers announced the release date along with the first teaser.

The short teaser begins with Nikita Dutta opening up a cryptic antique box which results in some unexplained terrifying events. The chilling background score adds to the horror factor. Although the teaser doesn't reveal anything about the film's plot, it gives you a fair idea about the tone of the film.

Dybbuk is a Hindi remake of the Malayalam film Ezra (2017) which starred Prithviraj Sukumaran and Priya Anand.

Jay K, who had helmed Ezra, has also directed Dybbuk, which features Manav Kaul. The original Malayalam film was a huge box office hit despite having received mixed reviews.

This is Hashmi's first film to have a direct-to-digital release. He has had two theatrical releases this year, Mumbai Saga and Chehre, both of which are being streamed on Amazon Prime Video.

Reportedly. apart from Dybbuk, Hashmi will be seen in Tiger 3 which also stars Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif.

Check out the teaser below and let us know if you are keen on watching the film.
