First-time filmmaker Dr Pragabhal Das's much-awaited multilingual action thriller film Muddy has finally got a release date. Touted to be India’s first film on off-road racing, Muddy is set to be released in cinemas on 10 December 2021.
The film, which took five years to be completed will have a pan-Indian release in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, English and Kannada. The teaser of the film was released earlier this year and has already garnered more than 16 million views. From the teaser, it is quite clear that the film will have visceral car stunts.
Muddy stars newcomers Yuvan, Ridhaan Krishna, Anusha Sooraj and Amith Sivadas Nair.
Speaking about the decision not to release the film on OTT platforms, Das said, "Muddy is a theatre experience film. The film was not released on OTT platforms, as the visual and sound effects of this action thriller could only be experienced at the theatre. Maddy is coming to the big screen by rejecting the best offers from the leading OTT platforms."
Prema Krishnadas is producing the film under the banner PK 7. The movie reportedly has the elements of revenge, family drama, humour and adventure.
On the technical front, KG Ratheesh is the cinematographer while San Lokesh of Ratsasan (2018) has edited Muddy. Ravi Basrur has composed music for the film.
