Nani’s Shyam Singha Roy to be released worldwide on 24 December; makers unveil new poster

The film has been directed by Rahul Sankrityan of Taxiwaala (2018) fame and stars Sai Pallavi as the leading lady.

Actor Nani’s upcoming Telugu period drama Shyam Singha Roy will be released worldwide in cinemas on 24 December, it was announced today. The makers also confirmed that the film will be dubbed and released in Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada.

The film has been directed by Rahul Sankrityan of Taxiwaala (2018) fame and stars Sai Pallavi as the leading lady.

Nani took to Twitter to share the release date announcement along with a new poster. “This Christmas Shyam will arrive where he belongs. To the big screen and to your hearts," he wrote.

The film, which has music by Mickey J Meyer, has been produced by Niharika Entertainment.

Seen some time ago in the Telugu film Tuck Jagadish (2021), Nani also has a project with director Vivek Athreya in the pipeline. Vivek rose to fame with the Telugu films Mental Madhilo (2017) and Brochevarevaru Ra (2019). This yet-untitled project is expected to go on the floors next year.

As a producer, too, Nani has two projects in the offing. He has confirmed that he will be bankrolling the sequels to the successful Telugu films Awe! (2018) and Hit: The First Case (2020).

As a producer, Nani made a smashing debut with Awe!, which was well received by audiences and did well at the box office. The film starred Kajal Aggarwal as a character suffering from multiple split personality disorder.

On turning producer with Awe!, Nani had said in an interview: “The success of Awe! has been overwhelming, simply because its reception was beyond our expectations.

“It was not meant to be a film for everybody. We had made it for a section of the audience and they loved it. But what surprised us was that the film was celebrated by one and all. We received glowing reviews from critics and audiences alike.”

Nani said he couldn’t have been happier as a producer. “When you win backing for such an experimental film, there can be nothing more rewarding,” the star said.
