This dance number, composed by Sachin-Jigar, seems to be a promotional track for the film.

The trailer for Rajkummar Rao and Kriti Sanon's Hum Do Hamare Do made it clear that the aim of the film is to provide humour and entertainment. So it is no surprise to see a massy dance number in the film.

‘Bansuri’ is one such song, which appears to be a promotional track that will be played during the closing credits.

Recently, the makers of the Pratik Gandhi-starrer Bhavai (2021) had also released a song titled ‘Bansuri’, but of course this is a different track, a typical dance number where poetry doesn’t play an important role. It’s all about the beats and whether they succeed in creating a foot-tapping number, which they do.

Composer duo Sachin-Jigar’s music goes a notch higher during the hook tune of a bansuri (flute). Shellee’s lyrics contain those typical Punjabi words that are generally found in such numbers. The song has five singers — Aees Kaur, IP Singh, Dev Negi and Sachin-Jigar — and their performance is satisfactory.

Rajkummar Rao and Sanon add plenty of life to the visuals with their chemistry and their dance steps. They were cast together earlier in Bareilly Ki Barfi (2017), but this number will not remind you of that film.

Also starring Paresh Rawal, Ratna Pathak Shah, Aparshakti Khurana, Manu Rishi Chadha and Prachee Shah Paandya, Hum Do Hamare Do will be released on 29 October on Disney+ Hotstar.
