Manish Gupta, the writer of Section 375 (2019), is set to helm a legal drama. The film will feature Vinay Pathak, Gul Panag and Ranvir Shorey. The news was confirmed by Shorey in an exclusive interview with Cinestaan.com.

Talking about his future projects, Shorey revealed, "There is another film called 420 IPC. It is directed by Manish Gupta, who wrote Section 375 and Sarkar (2005). Vinay Pathak, Gul Panag and Arif Zakaria are in it. I play a part in it. It is one of those procedural crime dramas."

In November 2019, the writer-director signed a two-film deal with producer Viki Rajani's Faith Films PL. Rajani has produced the films Table No 21 (2013), Phobia (2016) and Munna Michael (2017) among others.

Speaking to the news agency Indo-Asian News Service in November 2019, Gupta had said, "I'm associating with him on a long-term basis. Both our films will create two separate franchises, one is a murder mystery franchise and the other a legal drama franchise."

Shorey, however, did not know when the film will be out. The actor said, "I don't know when it is coming. With the schedules these days, you know how it is."

The actor will be seen next in Tabbar on SonyLIV from 15 October, alongside Pavan Malhotra and Supriya Pathak.
