The trailer of the series Girgit, which stars Nakul Sahdev, Taniya Kalrra and Ashmita Jaggi, hints that the story will revolve around a murder investigation.
The clip begins with the police interrupting the engagement ceremony of Ranbir (Sahdev) and Avantika (Jaggi). The lead inspector Rathod (Samar Virmani) informs everyone that they have found Ranbir's missing ex-wife's body and the circumstantial evidence points to murder.
Ranbir is a rich womanizing brat who may or may not be directly involved in the killing. There is also a gangster, Lyndoh (Shahwar Ali), and the conmen Mahi (Trupti Khamkar) and Shamoli who end up recording Ranbir's 'confession' on their phone and try to make the most of his dire situation.
Despite the serious subject, the trailer has a certain edginess which indicates that the series will also have a lot of dry humour. The trailer also hints that story will get more complicated with time. Inspector Rathod and Ranbir's fiance Avantika also seem to have some hidden secrets.
Directed by Santosh Shetty, the seven-part series also stars Aleksandar Ilic, Shahwar Ali and Ashish Tyagi.
Girgit will be streamed on ALTBalaji and MX Player from 27 October.
