Actress Swara Bhasker filed a complaint against a Twitter user and YouTuber, Elvish Yadav, yesterday for allegedly trying to malign her image and outrage her modesty through tweets and hashtags that amount to sexual harassment.
A first information report (FIR) was filed at the Vasant Kunj police station in Delhi under sections 354 D and 509 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and section 67 of the IT Act.
Following the complaint, Swara tweeted, “I am not alone. Suffering casual and everyday cyber sexual harassment is the price many women have to pay to have a voice in our public spaces. Again it’s not okay!”

A few hours ago, Swara recorded her statement in the case at the Patiala house court. An image of the actress leaving the court premises with her advocate is being circulated on social media.

Yadav had recently started trending an allegedly objectionable hashtag related to Swara’s controversial scene from Veere Di Wedding (2018).
Interestingly, veteran actor Manoj Joshi follows Yadav on Twitter.
