Subodh Bhave, who turned 46 today, made a special announcement. The actor revealed that he is playing the lead in Vishwas Joshi's upcoming Marathi movie Phulrani (2022).
The actor took to Instagram to share a black-and-white motion poster which features Bhave and a woman whose back is turned towards the camera.
The makers haven't yet announced the name of the actress who is essaying the titular role.
In his Instagram post, the actor also revealed that the film's shooting has been completed and the team plans to release it in theatres next year.
Speaking about why he took up the role, Bhave said, "Each role gave me a different identity. I have always preferred to do roles beyond the box. When writer-director Vishwas Joshi told me about the story of Phulrani and the concept of my role, I immediately said yes."
Phulrani is a contemporary adaption of George Bernard Shaw's popular play Pygmalion. Guru Thakur and Joshi have written the screenplay. The film's title is taken from legendary writer PL Deshpande's play Ti Phulrani, which was also based on Shaw's play.
Phulrani is presented by Finecraft Media and Entertainment and produced by Harshwardhan Sable, Jaee Joshi and Amruta Rao.
