Om Bhutkar — who rose to fame with his performance in Mulshi Pattern (2018) and National award-winning actor Girish Kulkarni — have been roped in for Anup Jagdale's historical romantic drama Ravrambha (2022).
Bhutkar will play the titular role of Rav in the film. But the makers have kept the details of Kulkarni's role under wraps. The film also stars Monalisa Bagal, who plays a character called Rambha.
Bhutkar and Bagal are sharing the screen space for the first time. This is also the first historical project for both artistes. Bhutkar and Kulkarni had earlier worked together in Deool (2011) and Faster Fene (2017).
Written by Pratap Gangavane, Ravrabha was supposed to go on the floors in April but because of the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic, the makers had to postpone the shoot. Now the film will go on floors from December this year.
This is Bhutkar's first and Kulkarni's second project with Jagdale.
The makers haven't yet revealed anything about the film's plot apart from the fact that it's a historical romance set in the Maratha empire in the 17th century.
Ravrambha is being produced under the banner of Shashikant Pawar Productions.
