Tiku Weds Sheru, starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui, goes on floors; Avneet Kaur to be female lead

The digital film, directed by Sai Kabir, is being backed by Kangana Ranaut’s production house Manikarnika Films.

Tiku Weds Sheru has found its lead actress in Avneet Kaur. The makers of the digital film, directed by Sai Kabir, had already unveiled Nawazuddin Siddiqui as Sheru back in July.

Produced by Kangana Ranaut’s production house Manikarnika Films, the quirky romance has begun filming. Avneet shared an update about the project via a new poster.

Fittingly the lead pair is decked out in wedding attire, while Siddiqui has a white Persian kitten on his shoulder. The poster also indicates that the two are on a film set, with the positioning of the lights and a film director in the background. However, there is a nearly three-decade age gap between him and Avneet.

Sai Kabir also shared the character posters of Tiku and Sheru. Siddiqui is Shiraz Khan Afghani urf Sheru and this time around, he is dressed in 1980s attire while posing with a gun.

Meanwhile, Avneet is Tasleem Khan urf Tiku. Her character poster has the actress garbed like a cabaret dancer from a film set. The 20-year-old has been working since she was a young girl in commercials, television serials and dance reality shows. She made her film debut in the Rani Mukerji-starrer Mardaani (2014) as the lead character's niece.

The posts from the cast and crew also indicate that the film will be premiered online on Amazon Prime Video.
