The latest song from Satyameva Jayate 2, titled ‘Tenu Lehenga’, boasts of a rich set design and costumes, just like its previous track, ‘Meri Zindagi Hai Tu’. But the major difference is that this one features two John Abrahams along with lead actress Divya Khosla Kumar.
For those who came in late, there is already confusion on whether John is playing three characters in the film or four.
It seems the song features the cop and politician versions of John. It’s a dance number between one version of the actor and his love interest played by Khosla Kumar. The other John looks busy in doing other stuff but still takes time out to shake a leg.
The song is a remix version of the Punjabi single by singer, music composer and lyricist Jass Manak. The original number was just decent. And there is nothing extraordinary in the remix either as ‘Tenu Lehenga.’ It’s a regular Punjabi number, the kind that is played at weddings and other functions in northern India.
Manak, as a singer, has shown the same quality he did in the original. He is joined by Zahrah S Khan, who does a fair job. Manak has recreated the music along with Tanishk Bagchi, the remix specialist of Hindi cinema. Bakshi’s additional lyrics push the song into the Hindi cinema zone.
