Nilesh Sahay's first directorial venture, Squad, is set to be released directly on Zee5 on 12 November. The action thriller, which marks the acting debut of Rinzing Denzongpa, the son of veteran actor Danny Denzongpa, was shot amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The director had to face many problems while shooting the large-scale action scenes especially due to COVID protocol. "If I start speaking about all the challenges we faced during the shoot because of the pandemic, we will have to be here for a whole day," the director said at a virtual press conference.

"I had only seen videos of people working on film sets with masks and all the other precautions, but soon I had to do the same," he added.

Sahay didn't want to compromise on the creative aspect of the film because of the circumstances. "But in a way, it also became our learning phase. For example, we learned how to shoot complicated action sequences while adhering to all COVID protocols. And thankfully no one from the cast and crew got COVID during those 40 days," he said.

Squad also stars Malvika Raaj, who is returning to films after almost 20 years. She played the young Pooja in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham... (2001).
