After an average first weekend collection of Rs18 crore nett, Mahesh Manjrekar’s Antim: The Final Truth was expected to drop on its first Monday. But the film somehow managed to hold on, making Rs3 crore on the day, according to trade website BoxOfficeIndia.com.
Having said that, the film’s grand total so far of Rs21 crore can best be described as average. According to trade sources, Antim was made on a budget of Rs45 crore and it remains to be seen if the film's collections at the box office take it anywhere close to that number.
Antim is the official Hindi remake of the acclaimed Marathi movie Mulshi Pattern (2018), which starred Om Bhutkar as a gangster and Upendra Limaye as a cop. In the Hindi version, the respective roles are played by Aayush Sharma and Khan.
Satyameva Jayate, which stars John Abraham in a triple role and Divya Khosla Kumar, dropped further, as expected, on its first Monday, making just Rs1 crore to go with its extended first weekend (the film was released on Thursday, a day ahead of Antim) collection of Rs9.45 crore nett.
Friday will see the release of Tadap, the launch vehicle of Ahan Shetty, son of veteran actor Suniel Shetty. The film also stars Tara Sutaria.
