Release of Srijit Mukherji's Kakababur Protyaborton shifted to 4 February 2022

Starring Prosenjit as the detective, the third film in the Kakababu franchise is set in the forests of tropical Africa.

The release of Srijit Mukherji’s upcoming film Kakababur Protyaborton has been postponed to 4 February next year. The film was earlier slated to be released on 24 December this year.

Based on Sunil Ganguly’s novel Jongoler Modhye Ek Hotel, the film will see Prosenjit Chatterjee reprise the role of the detective Kakabu with Aryann Bhowmick as his nephew and sidekick Santu. The film also features Anirban Chakrabarti in a crucial role.

Kakababur Protyaborton is the third film in the SVF Entertainment franchise after Mishawr Rohoshyo (2013) and Yeti Obhijaan (2017). This time the detective and his nephew will have their adventures in the jungles of tropical Africa.

A teaser for the film released in November last year revealed snippets of Kakababu and Santu making their way through tropical grasslands infested with elephants, lions, cheetahs and zebra. The song in the background suggested that the detective and his sidekick had set out on a mission to punish some criminals in the faraway land and had come across the native inhabitants as well.

The SVF team has announced that the trailer for the film will be launched on 24 December.
