The tune is an average remix of singer, composer and lyricist Pav Dharia's Punjabi hit ‘Na Ja’.
Sooryavanshi song 'Najaa': Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif complement each other in this dance number

Old-school action films offer viewers moments of respite amid all the fisticuffs in the form of songs. Also, it is only during these numbers that the actress [or the ‘heroine’] gets her chance to shine. ‘Najaa’, from Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi, is one such song.
Picturized on Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif, this is a typical mainstream Hindi film dance number where the lead pair is joined by a large group of backup dancers. This song also betrays Shetty’s fondness for vehicles.
But unlike the usual practice in such songs, the lead pair does not change their outfit even once. Akshay and Kaif are seen twinning in all black. They succeed in showing off their flexibility the same way they did years ago in Namastey London (2007) and Welcome (2007).
Like the previous song from the film ‘Aila Re Aillaa,’ this one is also a remix. This time the makers have chosen the popular Punjabi song ‘Na Ja’, sung, composed and partly written by Pav Dharia. Although the remix possesses a foot-tapping vibe, it is not a patch on the original.
Dharia's vocals are as good as they were in the original. Nikhita Gandhi's prowess is also put to good use [the original song didn’t have a female part]. Tanishk Bagchi’s recreation, however, is ho-hum as he has there is no major departure from the original composition.
Sooryavanshi will be released in theatres on 5 November.
