Filmmaker SS Rajamouli on Wednesday took to Twitter to wish the team of Sooryavanshi all the best ahead of its worldwide release on Friday. He expressed appreciation to the team for holding on to the film for over a year in order to help revive the theatre business.
Directed by Rohit Shetty, Sooryavanshi was originally slated to be released on 24 March last year but was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Sooryavanshi is the latest addition to Rohit Shetty's highly successful cop universe which comprises films such as the Singham series and Simmba (2018), starring Ranveer Singh.
Rajamouli took to Twitter and wrote, "Wishing Sooryavanshi a grand success… Wholehearted appreciation to the team for holding the film for more than a year and a half to revive the theatre business in these tough times."

Sooryavanshi also stars Katrina Kaif while Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh will reprise their own roles from Singham (2011) and Simmba respectively.
Earlier this month, Akshay posted a short video on Instagram in which he appeared alongside Ajay and Ranveer. In the video, shot inside a cinema hall, the three actors urged the audiences to watch the movie in theatres during Diwali. He had captioned his post, "Interval hua khatam, now it’s showtime! Sooryavanshi releasing this Diwali, 5th November at a cinema near you. Come celebrate with us. Back To Cinemas (sic)."
