The makers of the Amitabh Bachchan-, Ajay Devgn- and Rakul Preet Singh-starrer Mayday have changed the title to Runway 34. The news was shared by director, producer and actor Ajay Devgn through a press release and on social media.
'Mayday’ is a distress call made by the pilot of an aircraft that is facing an emergency situation.
The makers have shared posters of the three main characters of the film, played by Bachchan, Devgn and Rakul Preet. The artistes appear to be playing pilots.
When the project was announced in November 2020, the makers had said it would be a “thrilling, absolute edge-of-the-seat human drama”. The film went on the floors in December 2020.
In a statement, Devgn said he was instantly impressed by the script. “Honestly, just letting this script pass by me was not even a consideration," he said. "I knew I had to make it. What’s also beautiful is that it offered equal opportunities for my co-actors Amitabh Bachchanji, Rakul Preet Singh, Boman Irani, CarryMinati, Aakanksha Singh and Angira Dhar and my numerous co-actors,”
