Anusandhan also features Joydeep Mukherjee and Paayel Sarkar in crucial roles.
Having similarities with the plot of Rumy Jafry’s Chehre (2021), Anusandhan tells the story of Indra Chakraborty (Chatterjee), who happens to take refuge in a palatial mansion in Birmingham, England, on a rainy night, after he gets mildly injured in a car accident.
The trailer, which was released in March this year, revealed that the resident family, comprising a judge (Ganguly), a public prosecutor (Sen), a defence counsel (Sarkar) and a jailor (Mukherjee), proposes to play a game with Indra, asking him to play the defendant in a mock trial.
As the game gets more intense and the mock trial becomes more serious, the tense Indra begins to be treated as a criminal and feels compelled to make certain confessions.
Sen also shared the release date of the film yesterday on Instagram with a still featuring Chatterjee and himself.
Anusandhan will be competing with Subhrajit Mitra’s Avijatrik, which is now set to be released in theatres on the same day.
