Veteran actor Kamal Haasan took to Twitter today to reveal that he had tested positive for the novel coronavirus and is quarantined in hospital. He also requested people to stay safe as the pandemic isn’t over yet.

Kamal Haasan wrote a post in Tamil about getting infected with the novel coronavirus. He revealed that he had just returned from the US and been down with a slight cough.

He wrote, in translation, “There was a slight cough after returning from the US trip. COVID infection was confirmed on examination. I am isolated in the hospital. Realize that the epidemic is not over yet and everyone be safe.”

Kamal Haasan was busy shooting for the action flick Vikram, which marks his maiden collaboration with director Lokesh Kanagaraj. The film also stars Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh Faasil as the antagonists.

The veteran also confirmed recently that he has been writing a script for Maalik (2021) director Mahesh Narayanan. He didn't reveal too many details about the film.

Kamal Haasan had watched Maalik on the sets of Vikram and was later joined by Mahesh Narayanan and Fahadh Faasil. He praised Mahesh for the movie.
