Jaalbandi teaser: Novice insurance agent gets 72 hours to prove his survival skills

The teaser for Pijush Saha’s upcoming film Jaalbandi, starring newcomer Prince Prachurya, Paayel Sarkar and Darshana Banik, offers snippets of how an insurance agent gets only 72 hours to emerge victorious in a race for survival.

Based on the eponymous novel by Samaresh Majumdar, Jaalbandi narrates the story of Anish (Prachurya), a young aspirant who is determined to serve his client with honesty and fulfil his targets as an insurance agent. The teaser begins with Anish making a confession regarding his experience of his first reality check. He admits that in 72 hours he has realized that he has stepped into quicksand and there is no going back.

Anish is threatened when he tries to be ethical in his job and pushed to choose between money and violence. The glimpses show how he gets trapped in a game of deceit, murder and blackmail but refuses to give up. Some of the frames that highlight the cityscape of Kolkata also implie the struggle of aspirants trying to make their mark in a big city.

Jaalbandi also features veteran actor Dipankar De, Kharaj Mukherjee, Ranajoy Bishnu and Jul Malia in crucial roles. However, Prachurya’s dialogue delivery comes across as quite amateurish. Whether he makes his mark amidst established actors in his first film will be known when the film is released on 4 February 2022.
