Sidharth Malhotra’s espionage thriller Mission Majnu (2022) is scheduled to be released in theatres on 13 May next year. The announcement was made today by the film’s producers RSVP Movies, headed by Ronnie Screwvala.
The production house tweeted, 'Get ready to be a part of India’s greatest covert operation that derailed Pakistan’s illicit nuclear ambitions! Inspired by real events, Mission Majnu releasing on 13 May 2022 in a cinema near you.'
They also shared a new still featuring Malhotra, who plays a Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) officer. The old landline telephone, on which he is speaking, and the production design take you back to the bygone era of the 1970s, when the story is based.

Mission Majnu marks the directorial debut of Shantanu Bagchi. The film had gone on the floors in February this year.
When the film was announced in December last year, Malhotra had described it as “a patriotic tale inspired by true events" and a film that "celebrates the hard work of RAW agents who go out of their way to protect the citizens of our country". The actor said it was a privilege to tell the story of these brave intelligence agents, and "I am eager to revisit a mission that forever changed the relationship between India and Pakistan”.
Mission Majnu will also mark the Hindi debut of popular South actress Rashmika Mandanna. She has another Hindi film up her sleeve in the form of Goodbye, which stars Amitabh Bachchan and Neena Gupta.
