Ranbir Kapoor’s upcoming film Animal, which will be helmed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, was supposed to be released on Dussehra 2022. But the film has now been postponed to 11 August 2023, as per the makers.

Animal also stars Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol and Parineeti Chopra. The film is being produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar’s T-Series, Pranay Reddy Vanga’s Bhadrakali Pictures and Murad Khetani’s Cine1 Studios.

Animal was announced on 31 December 2020 in a video in which Ranbir’s character is heard expressing his annoyance with his father, played by Anil. The creative and hard-hitting background score along with the sound of bullets firing created an instant impact.

The film, which is a crime drama, is Vanga’s next after the blockbuster Kabir Singh (2019), which starred Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani. The film was the official Hindi remake of his own successful Telugu movie Arjun Reddy (2017) where Vijay Devarakonda played the lead.

Animal marks Ranbir and Anil's first collaboration. Ranbir made his debut with Anil’s daughter Sonam Kapoor in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Saawariya (2007).
