Box office: Sooryavanshi earns Rs166 crore in two weeks

Yash Raj Films' Bunty Aur Babli 2 might impact the action film's impressive run at the box office.

The Akshay Kumar-starrer Sooryavanshi, which was released on 5 November, has earned Rs166.11 crore nett at the box office, as per figures shared by BoxOfficeIndia.com.

The Rohit Shetty action film, which registered a collection of Rs3.25 crore on Thursday — after earning Rs3.50 crore the day before — raked in Rs120.36 crore and Rs45.75 crore in its first and second week respectively.

The film has crossed this milestone despite theatres in Maharashtra operating at only 50% occupancy.

As per trade sources, Sooryavanshi has been made on a budget of Rs150 crore.

Yash Raj Films’ Bunty Aur Babli 2 hit the cinema halls today. It will be interesting to see how much this affects Sooryavanshi's numbers. The Rani Mukerji, Saif Ali Khan, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Sharvari-starrer, which is the sequel to Bunty Aur Babli (2005), was off to a slow start at the box office in the first half of the day.
