Abhishek Bachchan's Bob Biswas to be premiered on Zee5 on 3 December

Abhishek Bachchan's Bob Biwas will be released on Zee5 on 3 December. The film is a prequel of sorts to Sujoy Ghosh's thriller Kahani (2012) and sees Bachchan portray the titular unassuming assassin.

One of the backers of the film, Red Chillies Entertainment, announced the release date online along with an intriguing motion poster.

This is Bachchan's third successive project to be released directly on a digital platform after Ludo (2020) and The Big Bull (2021).

According to makers, the film is a crime drama set against the backdrop of a love story, showcasing the dual life led by a contract killer. The thriller also stars Chitrangada Singh. 

The film marks the directorial debut of Diya Annapurna Ghosh, the daughter of Sujoy Ghosh. Speaking about her experience of working on this film, she said, "I have had the most fantastic experience designing Bob Biswas, a crime-drama that has a love story in its essence. This film came to me in 2020 which was one of the most difficult times in all of our lives. I was blessed with a fabulous set of actors like Abhishek and Chitrangda amongst others who have given it their all."

Speaking about the film, Manish Kalra, chief business officer, Zee5 India, said, "We are sure that Abhishek’s unique portrayal of the character will capture people’s imagination and will stay with them."
