Collaborated beautifully with Rahul Khanna on Lost, says Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury

The Fireflies (2013) actor is acting in a Hindi film after eight years.

Rahul Khanna has been absent from the Indian film scene for a while. The actor, who was last seen in Sabal Singh Shekhawat’s Fireflies (2013), will be seen in Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury’s upcoming thriller Lost (2022), which features Yami Gautam as an investigative reporter.

Khanna acted as a recurring character in the critically acclaimed US television series The Americans from 2014 to 2015 and the Netflix series Leila (2019) directed by Deepa Mehta.

While Gautam wrapped up her portions in August in Kolkata, the rest of the cast and crew are completing the shoot, including a special sequence where Khanna shows off his dart skills.

The actor’s character in the film has not been unveiled, but Lost revolves around themes dealing with the media and integrity.

Speaking about working with the actor, Roy Chowdhury said, “He is a phenomenal artist, and I don't think anyone else could have done justice to the role better than him. There was an instant connection with him, and it felt like we were playing the same raag throughout the film. It was a beautiful collaboration, I must say.”

The upcoming film also stars Pankaj Kapoor, Neil Bhoopalam, Pia Bajpiee and Tushar Pandey. The screenplay has been written by Shyamal Sengupta based on a story by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury and himself, while the dialogues have been penned by Ritesh Shah.

Lost has been produced by Zee Studios, Shareen Mantri Kedia, Kishor Arora, Sam Fernandes and Indrani Mukherjee.
